The right to a warm, safe home is fundamental—yet for millions, it remains an unattainable aspiration. With rising energy costs and aging housing stock, the urgency to act has never been greater.
In a recent announcement, Energy Minister Miatta Fahnbulleh will deliver a keynote address at the Warm and Safe Homes Summit (1 April, London), following the government’s recent commitment to Wave 3 of the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund. This critical funding aims to slash energy bills by hundreds of pounds annually for vulnerable households, while accelerating retrofits to improve health, reduce emissions, and future-proof social housing.
As Minister Fahnbulleh aptly states: “Living in a warm, comfortable home should not be a luxury. It is a right that has been out of reach for too many people for too long.”
The Warm and Safe Homes Summit offers a transformative platform to harness the potential of Wave 3 funding—equipping attendees with strategies to secure and deploy resources for impactful, equitable housing upgrades. Over 500+ sector leaders are expected to attend and a distinguished speaker lineup, including Selvin Brown MBE (Director, Net Zero Building Domestic, DESNZ), Andrea Joseph (Peabody), Jack Ostrofsky (London Councils), Paul Norman (Clarion Housing Group), and Priya Nair (The Housing Finance Corporation), to exchange cutting-edge insights and foster partnerships.
With millions of households still in fuel poverty, collaboration across housing providers, policymakers, and financiers is non-negotiable. This summit is a pivotal moment to shape strategies that prioritise resident well-being, climate resilience, and long-term affordability.
