Recipients are being advised to report any suspicious texts and seek assistance from energy providers or local authorities if struggling with energy bills. Murray Mackenzie, Director of Fraud at Virgin Media O2, stresses the importance of vigilance against evolving scam tactics. Reporting suspicious messages to 7726 can aid in preventing scammers from targeting victims.
